Pondok Idaman (Dream Cottage) is a small two-room guesthouse perched above the Scuba Odessey dive center in Lean Village, a quiet fishing community on the southern Amed coast between Lipah Bay and Selang.

Two king-bed rooms and a private beachfront terrace facing east. Get up, pick up your gear in the dive shop downstairs, and walk straight out to the beach for your dive. The rest of Amed and Tulamben's dive sites are a short drive away, with all transport arranged by the dive shop.

Dive & stay: the simplest dive holiday in Amed

Booking your room and your diving with the same small team means one WhatsApp thread, one plan, and nothing to coordinate. We know when you're diving, so your gear, transport and breakfast are ready when you are.

Whether you use our rental gear or bring your own, it lives downstairs in the dive shop. Our rental sets are rinsed and rigged by us; if you bring your own, the rinse tanks, drying area and lockable storage are yours to use, so nothing wet ever has to go up to the room. Your guide is the person you had coffee with on the terrace. And because we never take more than two divers per guide, the day runs at your pace, not a bus schedule.

A typical day

  • 06:30 — coffee on the terrace as the fishing boats come back in.
  • 07:30 — walk downstairs, gear up, and head out for the first dive while the sea is at its calmest.
  • Late morning — back at the house for a shower and a nap.
  • Afternoon — second dive, a snorkel from the beach, or a scooter ride along the coast.
  • Sunset — plan tomorrow's sites with your guide, right where you're staying.

Yes, and it's the easiest way to do it. The course takes 3 to 4 days, the classroom and gear are downstairs, and your instructor is on site. Any swimming level and any age from 10 upwards is welcome. Book 4 or 5 nights and we'll quote the course and the room together.

Absolutely. The beach is right in front of the house, the terrace faces the sunrise, and Lean is a quiet village to walk around. Many of our guests are couples where one dives and the other snorkels or relaxes. Non-divers can also try a discovery dive with us, no experience or swimming test needed.
